A Decade of Change

Progress and Possibility in Early Childhood Workforce and Finance

The Early Educator Investment Collaborative’s commitment to dismantling systemic inequities and strengthening educator preparation, compensation, and financing is grounded in two landmark reports: Transforming the Workforce for Children Birth Through Age 8: A Unifying Foundation and Transforming the Financing of Early Care and Education.

To mark the 10-year anniversary of this seminal research, we are partnering with leading organizations to reflect on progress, examine persistent challenges, and share strategies for advancing equity and systemic change in early childhood education. This effort includes a series of reflection papers that bring forward diverse perspectives from across the field, highlighting lessons learned and charting future directions for building a strong and diverse ECE workforce.

To deepen these conversations, we are also launching a webinar series that will feature prominent voices and organizations in early childhood education. Together, these papers and discussions spotlight the enduring relevance of this foundational research and invite the field to engage in shaping a more equitable and sustainable future for early educators, children, and families.
